Letters : Chicago, Ill. to Julien Cornell, 1947 February-April.

Hindus supports the release of Céline from prison because he is a "literary master," and despite his antisemitic remarks. He names others in the literary world who may join in a statement concerning this "Dreyfus case in reverse." In a letter Hindus cites from Céline, the latter hopes to get out of Europe, preferably to America, but possibly to Greenland. On April 20, 1947, Hindus reports that Celine is on parole and in the hospital, but that Communists are mounting a campaign against him.
